Wine and Food Week 2008 Welcomes Tim Healy
Republic Grill

Tim HealyTim Healy, Republic Grill

From the moment that you step into the open and inviting "Texas" atmosphere of the Houston Marriott Westchase, you will find a variety of experiences to compliment your stay. From Starbucks coffee and morning house-baked pastries, to the Republic Grill's fresh new menu and exciting buffets. All of which are capped off with our Dom Perignon Sunday Brunch.

Catering events for a 1000 guests are a daily occurrence, all prepared in the hotel kitchen under Chef Tim's watchful eye.

Overseeing the Culinary operation is Chef Tim Healy, a southerner of sorts, born in North Carolina and raised in New Jersey. In early 1987, Tim started his career with the Sheraton Hotel Corporation as Executive Sous Chef and finally as Executive Chef in several of the Corporation's Flagship properties, always bringing world class quality with him.

In mid 2003, looking for more challenges, Chef Tim moved over to the Hyatt Hotel chain as Executive Chef for the next 3 years when the call of the Texas wild moved him and his family to Corpus Christi with Omni Hotels.

During his culinary travels, Chef has prepared many meals for notable sports figures, several U.S. Presidents and the mother of all, Chef Julia Child. Healy says that was a hoot! His reputation grew and he became well known, whether serving a gala for 1000, a new Museum dedication or a Corporate meeting for 20. He continually takes the tried and true standard fare that our Hotel guests are comfortable with and puts his own personal touches on it to make it "his own".

As he is wrangling the largest Marriott in Houston, Chef Tim is implementing his personal touch, fine tuning the details, which is the most important part of any event, and finishing it off with flair that can only say Executive Chef Tim Healy.

As a newcomer to Houston, now six months, Chef Tim is looking forward to putting his name and quality reputation on the culinary landscape of Houston for the Marriott Westchase.

When Chef is not hovering over a stove or commanding a kitchen, you'll find Tim singing (really!) while touring the Texas countryside looking for his next food idea on his favorite form of transportation, a motorcycle, often accompanied by his lovely wife of 23 years.
